Superstring Theory at ICTP
Annual spring school runs from 22 to 30 March

From the physics of black holes to physics beyond the standard model, ICTP's annual Spring School on Superstring Theory and Related Topics will once again explore the many dimensions of string theory. Over the course of the week-long school, which is being held in Trieste, participants will hear lectures from some of the world's top string theorists, from such institutes as MIT, Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, the Perimeter Institute, and the Institute for Advanced Study.
"The School reflects the interdisciplinary nature of string theory. As our knowledge of the theory has evolved, areas outside of high-energy physics have become important. For instance, we have included lectures related to condensed matter," said Seif Randjbar-Daemi, head of ICTP's High Energy, Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics section and a School organizer.
The School is co-sponsored by the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) and the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA).
