Mohamed Abdalla Darwish, ICTP Diploma student during 1995-1996 and Regular Associate since 2003, is a visiting scholar at the Department of Mathematics of MIT from Feb. to Aug. 2008. Darwish, Head of the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University at Damanhour, is the local organizer of the CIMPA-UNESCO-EGYPT School Recent Developments in the Theory of Elliptic PDE, which will be held at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Egypt, Jan. 19-29, 2009 and has been the local organizer of the ICTP School on Algebraic Approach to Differential Equations held in Alexandria, November 2007.
