Dag Harald Johannessen assumed the post of ICTP Senior Administrative Officer on 13 October. Born in Norway and with a master of business administration from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, Johannessen has enjoyed a varied career in administration and management. His work includes private-sector marketing and sales, and software and accounting systems development. More recently, he has been employed by the Norwegian Space Centre and the European Free Trade Association, serving as head of administration at both institutions. Johannessen is married. He and his wife, Solveig Nylund, have a 15-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl.
