Prof. H.P. Garg, Professor and Co-ordinator of the Solar Energy Programme at the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, has been named an ICTP Senior Associate. Prof. Garg, who is a pioneer researcher in the field of renewable energy, has been an ICTP Associate since 1984. Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet, another ICTP Associate Member specialising in the field of condensed matter physics, has been appointed Director of the Institute of Physics, in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Institute employs 100 researchers.
